Volunteer Editor
Overview
The Graduate Student Senate is seeking on online and print Editor to help the second annual edition of the Graduate Research Review. The Graduate Research Review is a special project run by graduate students to highlight the great research work being done by fellow graduate students. The format of the publication is a compendium of research abstracts organized by college, and will be augmented by a new research highlights website focused on graduate students.
We expect you to be excited about graduate research at Lehigh University and be able to work with existing team leaders as well as the current layout designer. You will be expected to supervise the selection of notable research abstracts, write lead stories on the new research highlights website and do minor editing of the abstracts for print layout.
Responsibilities
- Researching background and writing the lead stories at the research highlights website
- Working with the layout designer to produce a professional looking publication, which will then be available for print-on-demand from MagCloud
- Exporting data from our online abstract-submission application, proofreading research abstracts, and asking for resubmission from students if required
Desired Skills
- Ability to conduct background research as well as short student interviews
- Ability to write short articles in news style for a magazine audience
- Experience with WordPress, which is used on our new website
Compensation
We offer no financial compensation or tuition credit, and this is not an Assistantship. We offer only the experience of participating in a great project with motivated fellow graduate students at Lehigh University. Excellent addition to a CV.
